SBA Issues New Servicing and Liquidation 7(a) Lender Matrix

  • Article

The Small Business Administration (SBA) recently released version 17 of the Servicing and Liquidation 7(a) Lender Matrix. This commonly used tool provides lenders with a quick guide to determine their authority when servicing or liquidating a 7(a) loan.

Changes at a Glance

The revised matrix comes as a replacement to the 2024 version 16 making several updates to align with recent revisions to standard operating procedures (SOPs) 50 10 and 50 57. Some of the updates include:

  • Guidance on where to submit notifications and prior approval requests.
  • More direct cross-references to the latest SOP 50 57.
  • Expanded and updated footnotes.

All 7(a) lenders should start using the new matrix immediately to assist in identifying which actions require prior approval from the administration.
