Doeren Mayhew, a national assurance, tax and advisory firm, announced it has grown again in West Michigan with its acquisition of Novotny CPA Group, effective Nov. 6, 2025. 

Novotny CPA Group is a full-service accounting firm that has served businesses and their owners along West Michigan’s coast for more than 40 years with accounting, tax and auditing services. All Novotny CPA Group’s team members have relocated to Doeren Mayhew’s Grand Haven and Grand Rapids offices, continuing with the firm in their current roles. The firm’s partners, Randy Novotny and Tom Winkelman, join the firm as principals.

Today, Doeren Mayhew is recognized as the 8th largest CPA firm in Michigan with nearly 450 team members in the state and more than 825 nationally. The integration of Novotny CPA Group strengthens the current footprint in West Michigan for Doeren Mayhew, while enhancing its core tax and audit practices, and deepening its bench strength of advisors. The firm has completed four acquisitions in the region within the last year, solidifying its commitment to strategic growth in the market.
