Doeren Mayhew Acquires Draper Bialik & Company CPAs, Expanding to West Michigan Lakeshore

  • News

Doeren Mayhew, a national assurance, tax and advisory firm, has completed its acquisition of Grand Haven, Mich. based Draper Bialik & Company, CPAs, PLLC (Draper Bialik) as of June 15, 2025. The acquired firm and its employees continue to operate out of its Grand Haven office under the Doeren Mayhew brand name.

“Continuing to grow and integrate into the broader West Michigan community is a top priority for us, and the lakeshore is an integral part of that strategy,” says Joshua Garvey, Grand Rapids’ managing principal at Doeren Mayhew Advisors, LLC. “We know to serve that market, it’s important to have a presence there. We feel Draper Bialik is the perfect partner to do that with. They have a long-standing reputation with their clients in the community, and we look forward to building upon that for years to come.”

Acquiring Draper Bialik furthers Doeren Mayhew’s growth goals within the market and is the first step to establishing a foothold along the lakeshore. This marks the firm’s third local acquisition within a year, most recently welcoming Benoit & Associates in June 2025, and BHT&D in September 2024. Since establishing a presence in the West Michigan market via its acquisition of Beene Garter LLP in 2022, the firm has continued to demonstrate its commitment to serving the local communities.

Co-founded by Marc Draper and Douglas DeVries (retired) over 30 years ago, with Henry Bialik joining shortly thereafter, Draper Bialik has focused on providing tax, accounting and consulting services to local businesses and individuals. Draper joins Doeren Mayhew as a principal, while Bialik will act as a senior advisor for a period of time.

“We are excited to join forces with Doeren Mayhew and expand the services we’re able to offer our clients. Bringing the resources and service offerings of a larger firm will provide incredible opportunities to our Grand Haven business community,” says Marc Draper, partner at Draper Bialik. “This is a big step forward for us, and we look forward to continuing our journey with Doeren Mayhew.”
